First Trust/Aberdeen Global Opportunity Income Fund Declares Monthly Distribution

Lisle, IL, October 20, 2005 -- First Trust/Aberdeen Global Opportunity Income Fund (the "Fund") (NYSE: FAM) today declared the Fund’s regularly scheduled monthly distribution, payable on November 15, 2005 to shareholders of record as of November 3, 2005. The ex-dividend date is expected to be November 1, 2005. The monthly distribution information for the Fund appears

First Trust/Aberdeen Global Opportunity Income Fund (FAM):

Distribution per share: $0.13
Distribution Rate based on the October 19, 2005 NAV of $19.10: 8.17%
Distribution Rate based on the October 19, 2005 closing market price of $17.28: 9.03%

The majority, and possibly all, of this distribution will be paid out of net investment income earned by the Fund. A portion of this distribution may come from net short-term realized capital gains or return of capital. The final determination of the source and tax status of all distributions paid in 2005 will be made after the end of 2005.

The Fund is a closed-end management investment company that seeks to provide a high level of current income. As a secondary objective, the Fund seeks capital appreciation. The Fund pursues these investment objectives by investing in the world bond markets through a diversified portfolio of investment grade and below-investment grade government and corporate debt securities.

First Trust Advisors L.P. acts as the Fund’s investment advisor and currently manages or supervises approximately $21 billion in assets.

Aberdeen Asset Management Inc. (“Aberdeen ”) is the Fund’s sub-adviser. Aberdeen is a wholly owned subsidiary of Aberdeen Asset Management PLC which is the parent company of an asset management group managing approximately $49.2 billion in assets, including approximately $9 billion
